Like we all know and like I mention it (because I think that, despite off that I have told you and I`m gonna tell you once again, everyone exactly know about it) differences between poker and texas holdem poker are huge. Practically only a poker hands are constant, because they are the same in both types of poker game. Everything else has changed, of course those are good changes for texas holdem. First change is about cards that we have on our hand. In normal poker you have five cards – this is the number of cards that you need to collect your poker hand. In texas holdem you have just two cards in your hand. You want to ask how can you make your poker hand when you have just two cards? Those two cards are something like a main part of your poker hand. The rest you will get from common cards on the table – I mentioned about them in my first article. Remember that this is very hard task – those are common cards, so every player can use them, but remember thing you’ve lerned from MTT strategies – your poker hand is still most important. You have to be careful and think smart to save your money. Of course those cards are not showing at one moment. They are showing in three rounds – first round shows us three cards, second shows us one card and third also shows us one card. Between those rounds there are parts with bids and this is in real most important in texas holdem. Bids are aggressive, dynamic and they can increase a blood pressure even to the best players and this is one of the biggest advantage of this amazing game.

First player on the left from big blind is betting first. Rule is simple – the sooner the better. Why? Because we can set the game rules only when we will bet first, saying first word. We can make game more or less dynamic. Second and in fact the last thing that we have to do is to look at the cards (we can do nothing more). If we have very strong poker hand (look at MTT poker strategies), for example pocket aces, pocket queens or ace-king suited – we should always play, there is nothing to think about it. The rest I let you to apprise, because I think that it is the best training, especially if you train in poker heads-up. Don`t forget that luck also have an influence on game. It is also worth to mention about situation when we are not play as first in bid and we need to adapt our game style to other player dynamics. Then we can adapt, fold or show so much power that we will take charge on the table – but we can do this only if we have one of three previously mentioned hands – on the other way it is too dangerous.

This is continuation of article „Pre flop game”. As the name says now we will get to know what to do when first three cards are shows. Those who participate in betting pre flop (usually very drastic) need to do next step. Practically those three cards on the table decided that we will or not make some good poker hand. Of course I`m not saying that turn and river (fourth and fifth card) are useless, because they are not. The problem is that most players think that those two cards are important only to person which counts only for luck and this is not good way – at least not in poker. Of course I`m not talking here about every players. How it affects on our game? Well, most unprofessional players can spoil the bid right after flop and consequently whole hand. Let`s focus on the game. We have to remember to keep our game style, which we present before the flop. If we will change our tactic, others more experienced players will noticed that change and thanks to that will read what we hide on our hand without any problems. Of course we can bluff, but to do it we need more skills then to control our emotions. If we will keep calm and our game style, we have only thing to do – win two other betting rounds, just like our intuition tells us and by analyze situation on the table. Last bid, after shows river card and before showdown is just as important as first bid. It happens that players stops to be careful at last bid, became distract and smash whole game by uncover their secrets and gives themselves away. So you need to remember to keep steel. What would poker be, especially so much gambling type of poker like texas holdem if bluff wouldn`t exist? What is bluff? Bluff is nothing else than intentional cheat, mislead other players by imitation absolutely different situation from what we have to do. Bluff have two forms. First, basic form of bluff is attempt to show that you “have something” while you have absolutely nothing except few useless cards. This bluff is easier to do, but also much more risky, because we can lose a lot of money if somebody will decide to call us and there is a lot of this kind of crazy players at poker table. Much more interesting form of bluff is second bluff, called inverted bluff. We intentionally show to other players that we have weak cards. Of course we don`t have weak cards, because we play in that way only if we have very strong cards on our hand. It is very hard to do good, we need to show our uncertainty and excessive caution, but it also can`t look falsely, because other players will figure it out that we are trying to bluff them. We can`t lose our money, because most players will pass- this is earning bluff, so little profit is like defeat. We have to show very good our uncertainty and luck of courage to next move – just to our bluff work. Sometimes – especially when we play with better players – we can pretend that we know nothing about texas hold-em. I assure you that if we shows somebody that indeed we don`t really know how to play poker, this guy soon will be our “victim”. And maybe he will think that our win was just a coincidence and will try to play with us once again and he will lose more money. This tactic works fine on poker heads-up – check it by yourself.
